The ideal candidate will be a paralegal or attorney with 3-5 years recent relevant experience in a transactional or contracts based practice, and a strong commercial leasing background preferred.
Experience with primary and autonomous responsibility for reviewing, drafting and negotiating a broad range of standard commercial contracts, with an emphasis on technology based contracts a plus.
Under the supervision of in-house counsel, the Contracts Specialist will review, draft and provide advice regarding documents relating to the Company’s contract needs, including real property leases, commercial contracts, non-disclosure agreements, vendor technology agreements, consulting agreements and miscellaneous matters.
The Contracts Specialist will provide project management, drafting expertise, and will work collaboratively with attorneys and law clerks to represent the Legal Department through direct contact with internal clients and a broad range of external vendors.
Bachelor’s degree required, and post graduate degree a plus.
Must complete projects by applicable deadlines. Must be proactive, prioritize and take ownership of the projects and tasks assigned by the attorneys in the Legal Department or internal clients.
Must have strong organizational, analytical, project and process management and written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to understand substantive legal concepts, legal research and documents, contracts, procedures and terminology.
Must be a team player, and have the ability to interact professionally and effectively throughout the organization.
Must thrive on the challenge of a fast-paced environment and have the ability to prioritize multiple, diverse projects.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills and outstanding time-management skills is required.
Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, including the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and new management procedures.
Must have strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
